For ten years I had the privilege and blessing of working side-by-side with Pete Tackett. During that time Pete became my partner in ministry, my pastor, and my friend.
Serving with him as a ministry partner I was able to experience first-hand Pete’s strengths as a gifted communicator with a passion for prayer and a heart for evangelism. His visionary leadership provided direction and motivation for reaching the lost in our community and encouraging the discipleship of those involved in our programs. Pete’s skill in helping others find their place in ministry and supplying them with training ensured a continually growing volunteer leadership base for not just his ministry area but also the other ministries of our church.
Pete has a pastor’s heart that is evident by his compassion for those the Lord leads into his path. His counsel is sought by many, and the Lord has given him a discerning spirit that is invaluable when assisting others through life’s circumstances. Through his personal example of extending grace to others, Pete has led God’s people to understand and embrace this essential characteristic of the Kingdom.
As a fervent student of God’s Word, Pete continues to mature in his personal walk with Christ and increase his effectiveness as preacher of the Gospel. Pete’s exceptional communicating skills and captivating pulpit presence create a dynamic atmosphere each time he speaks. The prayer and planning that is always put into his sermon preparation ensure that the message is delivered with clarity and power.
Above all these things it is Pete’s friendship that has meant the most to me. We have laughed together and cried together, but through it all he has never failed to be a source of encouragement and accountability. He and Lori have walked with Karen and me through many times of trials, and we have been blessed to stand with them and observe their faith as they have encountered their own personal struggles. Karen and I have benefited greatly from their friendship. We are a stronger family and more equipped servants of the Kingdom thanks to Pete Tackett.
